Mesothelioma is caused when a person has exposure to asbestoes fibers and dust.In Mesothelioma the malignant cells develop in the mesothelium,which is the protective lining that covers most of the internal body organs.
Symptoms:
Symptoms of mesothelioma may not appear until 20 to 50 years after exposure to asbestos. Shortness of breath, cough, and pain in the chest due to an accumulation of fluid in the pleural space are often symptoms of pleural mesothelioma and weight loss and cachexia and abdomial pain are the symptoms in peritoneal mesothelioma.
Treatment:
Treatment involves either radiation or surgical procedures.Depending on the severity of the cases,Chemotherapy or immunotherapy is also decided.
